Abandoned Tricycle Prompts Search In Saco

SACO (NEWS CENTER) -- One minute, a young child was playing on theplayground equipment at the park at the end of Lincoln Street inSaco. The next, he was gone.

Employees of the city's Parks and Recreation Department saw thechild ride in on the tricycle at around 9:30 Friday morning. Theysay he looked to be two to four years old. They say there were noadults with the boy.

A short time later, the boy was gone, but the tricycle and helmetwere still there.

Officials have located the child who owns the tricycle, and say hewas home all morning. Now they are concerned that another childtook the trike for a ride and may have wander off into the woods,or even fallen into the river.

Teams with dogs are searching a 10-acre area, and the WardensService had a plane in the air earlier in the day.
