Boy struck and killed by train in Centralia
CENTRALIA — A 15-year-old boy riding a bicycle has beenstruck and killed by an Amtrak train at a pedestrian crossing inCentralia.
The boy was killed instantly when he was hit this afternoon. He wasriding with another boy on another bicycle when the accidentoccurred. The other boy was not injured.
The northbound train was coming from Portland, when the accidenthappened about 4:30 p.m. The Amtrak was halted for about 90 minutesafter the boy's death before it left for Bellingham.
